My Sister's Keeper
If I was in Judge DeSalvo's shoes I would have ruled in Anna's favor, because it's her life, yes it affects her sister but in the end it's her body and she should be able to control it a little bit. I know Sara is just trying to keep her family all together the best she can but just isn't good enough anymore. The thing about Sara being a lawyer she is too close to the case to be able to do a great job of defending herself. Campbell Alexander he was a good lawyer but the reason why was unclear so people thought he was doing it for selfish reasons when he was really doing for Anna was what he couldn't do for himself.

Designer Babies
This is a baby who is chosen out of a couple different embryos to the healthiest or the one that might save a sibling. After they are born they are just like any other baby only some of them have some DNA taking from them in order to help another sibling. If I was the parent I would do it because not only would I have another kid but I would also help one of my other children. So it would be a good thing. Especially if there is a hereditary disease in your family, you can make sure that you have a somewhat healthy child. If I was the child that was helped by the designer baby, I would feel like I could never repay them for saving my life. If I was the child I would feel important to my sibling that I helped, but I wouldn't know for sure about why my parents did it. So it would be difficult being a designer baby because it would raise a lot of questions. It would make you wonder why you are really here.

Holocaust Denial
If someone tried to tell me that the Holocaust wasn't real, that it didn't happen, I would tell them if that's their opinion that's okay but they need to know that it was real, that it did happen. People spreading the rumor that it didn't happen are lying to themselves because there are so many facts that clearly show what happened. They are offensive to all of those who died during it, and they are calling the people who did get through it liars. Those people went through a lot and everything about the Holocaust explains what happened, how terrible it was for anyone who was rounded up, put in cattle cars, were either starved to death or very close to it. Who could possibly make up something so horrible? That's just my thoughts though, many other people have their own thought or feelings.

Holocaust
The Holocaust was a terrible time in the world, and the worst part was not many people knew about it. Why would it matter what religion someone could be? Why were they treated the way they were? Why didn't anyone even try to stop it? How could no one notice what was going on? Those people who helped the Jewish people had courage, if more people were like them then the world would probably be a better place. Was the war really all about Germany and Japan, or was it also about religion? While the soldiers were fighting for their lives, there was civilians fighting for theirs. Those 6 million people didn't deserve what happened to them, and no one ever should.

Things you don't realize
I've been riding horses since I was three years old. I was used to it, it was something I did all the time. One day I was riding my horse, Prince, and he decided that he wasn't going to move. So I was trying to get him to walk. All of a sudden he started galloping around the pasture I was in. I was so surprised that my one hand slipped off, so I was only hanging on with one hand on the saddle. I dropped the rains and was trying not to fall off. During all of this my Dad had hurdled the fence to get into the pasture and stop Prince. I found out that my Dad could hurdle a fence and that was pretty cool for me at the time.

Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.
"Instructions for living a life. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it." -Mary Oliver
I'm astonished about how quickly someone's life can change. One minute you could just be walking around and in the next ten minutes you could be in the hospital in ICU. You could have fought with someone then you go to see them again then find out that they have been hit by a car, and when you want to tell them how sorry you are, you can't. You should treat everyone you meet as if it's the last time you'll ever see them, then you well never have to regret not telling that person something, because who knows it might just be the last time you see them.

Constitutional Amendment
If I had the choice to make a new amendment I would make it be that if you are playing a game with family or friends, then you can't use your cell phone, or when your eating with your family. It's family time not whoever is on the other end of the phone time. That and it is so distracting and these things never get done if you aren't paying attention to what you are doing. These are simple things. You can always talk to that person later. If it is an emergency or something, I can understand, otherwise it is just rude.

What do you wish you could believe in again?
"There is a great deal of difference in believing something still and believing in it again."- W.H.
Auden
I wish that I could believe that all those characters that you learn when you are a little kid were still real. They were my inspiration sometimes. They were always making me want to do good, and look at the world in a different way. It was something for me to believe in when there was nothing else.

Personalities
Are our physical traits connected to our personalities? I don't think so, because there are the kind of people that are really tall but they don't act very much like you might think that they would act like. Then you might see a shorter person and you might think that they are quiet but they really aren't. Some people may be the exception to this though. If internal beauty of a person was linked to what a person then you would truly see what someone was like. Then you might know if someone would stab you in the back or not when you first met them. I honestly don't know what I would look like. I would hope that I'm not to bad of a person, but I think that would be a question for the people who know me.

Saving or Spending...
I think that I'm a saving kind of a person because I save my money for better things. I agree with that article. My generation is mostly made up of spenders. I think this because of the fact that a lot of us are always saying "Well that is then and this is now." . Which is basically making excuses for themselves. That isnt a very good quality of someone because they cant wait for things, and that can be annoying when you are going as fast as you can but it isnt fast enough for those kind of people.

Are you an Extrovert or an Introvert?
I think that I personally am an Introvert. I think that extrovert kind of people may have it easier because they can talk to people so much easier, there is always going to be people out there and there may not always be spaces for someone to be alone in. If everyone would be an Extrovert in the world, i think everyone would be loud and the world would be obnoxious. If everyone in the world would be an introvert no one would stand up and be a leader cause everyone would be to shy to do it. I my friends can be shy, or they could be loud. Just as long as they aren't obnoxiously loud. I think that a mix between the two types of people would make a good leader. The better writers might be the introvert kind of people, because they may be quiet but they put the words that they don't say on the paper. I think that as long as there is a good mix then that neighborhood would be pretty good.

"Man is free at the moment he wishes to be." - Voltaire
I think what this means is that if you hold yourself prisoner when you don't let go of things, or if you don't forgive someone for whatever reason. The moment you want to be free from all of that stress, all you have to do is to let things go. Be more mellow, do something relaxing or anything, really that will help you to let something go. Then you can hold on to that inner peace you now have.

There is no reality, only perception
"Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world." -George Bernard Shaw
I think that what he said means that how you see the world, is how it is for you. It might be different for other people, because the PERCIVE it differently. Everyone thinks differently, so everyone's life is different. If you don't like how your life is then change the way you think about it. If you act like you don't like your life, then that is how your life is gonna be. You aren't going to like your life if you stick with that attitude.

"Never let the fear of striking out get in your way." - Babe Ruth
If you want to do, or say something then just do it. Don't let other people get in your way, don't let the word No stop you from being yourself. If your friends don't agree with your true self, then they were never true friends.

My Favorite Walt Whitman Poem
I Saw In Louisiana A Live-Oak Growing
By: Walt Whitman
I saw in Louisiana a live-oak growing,
All alone stood it, and the moss hung down from the branches;
Without any Companion it grew there, uttering joyous leaves of dark green,
And its look, rude, unbending, lusty, made me think of myself;
But I wonder'd how it could utter joyous leaves, standing alone there,
without its friend, its lover near--for I knew I could not;
And broke off a twig with a certain number of leaves upon it, and twined
around it a little moss,
And brought it away--and I have placed it in sight in my room;
It is not needed to remind me as of my own dear friends,
(For I believe lately I think of little else than them)
Yet it remains to me a curious token--it makes me think of manly love;
For all that and though the live-oak glistens there in Louisiana, solitary, in a wide
flat space,
Uttering joyous leaves all its life, without a friend, a lover, near,
I know very well I could not.
I like this poem because it is easier to understand. Also I think that he is talking about how he doesn't get how people could go through life without someone to lean on.

Walt Whitman
Walt Whitman was a poet that was one of the most influential, and innovated poets. He was born around 30 years after the first president was inaugurated. He worked in a lawyer's office for his first job. He worked at a newspaper place after that job. Then he tied out being a teacher, even though he only had schooling until he was eleven. Thomas Jefferson was his brother, they became closer over time. He ended up being an owner of his own newspaper. While he was in New Orleans he wrote his first poem, it was called, "Sailing the Mississippi at Midnight,". After that he wrote many other poems. He was a Realist and Romanticist. He wrote both kinds of poems.

How does TV effect peoples emotions?
I think that people watch the kind of shows that they like
to watch because that is how they wish their life could be
like that. So if they want their life to be more like that TV
show, they are going to act more like their favorite character.
They are going to act like that person does because they
are like their role model.
